Man, one thing Battlestar really did do well were the centurions. Reall killing machines that would give their "lives" in droves (go through innumerable reincarnations) for an order. But still did have a mind and feelings. At a simpler, more animal level, but they were still there. Season 4, Episode 15 shows it in detail that does the word "beauty" well.
