Lots of training is done there since it also emulates condistions on some gas giants, but is a bit less extreme/dangerous, about as far down into a gas giant as humans go, and easier to get to than the Outties (where a more limited number of troop types train regularly anyway)

Not a gas-rock, but resembles a lot of exSol planets, so there is a lot of military training done there--and only a skeleton crew of permanent residents. Most of the construction and maintenance is done by visiting troops. Not a favorite destination
