They have rather rigid ways of thinking. Very rule-based. And yeah, the rules on which they're based is their religion. I mean, if you domesticated a race of deadlym intelligent aliens, wouldn't you want to select for those whose behaviors you could both understand and control?! And doing so anyway is part of the Blattids modus operandi anyway.
