Succubi don't have superliminary drive tech. They travel through other species.
And so the first humans encounter them is right after the human encounter B&Bs. In fact, the humans just come to realize they've made "first contact" when the Succuci start to infiltrate.
I'm thinking their "seeds" are small---nearly as small as eucaryotic cells. Or maybe more like sand grains. Maybe just big enough to give anything you eat a nearly pear-like grit.
And that they have a hard shell that can survive dryness and extreme temperatures, but that softens into a mucusy "sheath" when they contact water. Like quinoa. So eating their raw seeds is crunchy, but also soon slimey enough to slide through both safely and while intreacting with their host's digestive system.
So I'm thinking a way to address the problem of "how come they are nearly everywhere, but still want to travel faster than light" could be cross-fertilization. That they do breed in other species, but only in a sort of asexual larval phase. They then need to turn into their "adult" form and mate with other Succubi to produce sexual offspring. But yeah, the more new information they can bring into their "genome" from the larval host the better.
