One breakthrough for them is learning that humans are highly alleregic to Raptors.
But diseases also need to reach their hosts first. So, early detection & erradication matter for them. When humans learn that Raptors are toxic, they not only try to address that, but also learn that there are implanted diseases trying to riff on them.
Humans learn about the diseases not long after the blattids learn about our vulnerability to Raptors' biochemistry. Of course, we don't figure out who's sending them. Well, at least the general public never does; they're quite easy for even the blattids to manipulate that much.
