1.2 Campaign
There are two, main types of campaigns:
- Player competition
- Player survival
1.2.1 Player Competition
Player competition campaigns usually end in one final die roll. - This die roll determines which side wins. - A priori, it is determined which side wins with 1 – 5, and which with 6 – 0. - This roll is nearly always modified by points won by either side through the campaign. This usually progresses by one side gaining X points for winning a scenario, and then the difference between these total points won by the two sides being a modifier to that roll. - The outcome determined by this roll should somehow significantly change that World.
1.2.2 Player Survival
Where the odds of winning aren’t necessarily higher than they were in player competition. The GM might still get the Blattids, and anyway, it’s easy to do out there. Mistakes can be fatal, and everyone makes mistakes. Or at least choose the lesser of two evils.
But to survive provides the opportunity to thrive. Even Miles might become a Decider, and make some tough decisions there. (Or is it to make some decision tough?)
1.3 Scenario
- Senarios can be played by a GM and one or more Players. All Players represent an assigned Side in every scenario, regardless of wheterh their Side is invloved in that scenario. If a Player’s Side is not represented, that Non-Sided Player plays NPCs, and as many NPCs as possible. Some of whom can have some pretty fucked up lives. It can really suck to be nothing more than an NPC, so play it for your Side.
